the geek in the pink just got pink-er.

There it is.

Forgive the foolish grin plastered across my face. That's the genuine smile of someone who wanted, wished, waited and was finally fulfilled. HAHA. Yes, it's true, I'm now a proud mama of a hotpink V3x. Oh, pure bliss! I still pinch myself every time I see it, just to make sure it's real. I didn't even force my parents to buy me this! I just casually mentioned it a few months back, and before I knew it my mom was asking me a hundred times a day if I really wanted it. My mind is practically screaming out "Of course I want it, in fact I need it!" but of course I can only mutter a short, "Ako naman okay lang kahit ano." WEEEHH. Hehe. But honestly, I didn't beg for this because I'm not a spoiled brat (although I look like one). I was willing to wait forever -- or at least until I find a better phone. Fortunately, my waiting was cut short when we made that trip to Greenhills yesterday. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Last night, I was fiddling through my new baby and realized how crazy Motorola's user interface was compared to Nokia's. I mean, seriously, for someone who has used Nokia phones almost her entire adolescent life (I say almost because my first ever phone wasn't Nokia, but all the rest were) it was hard! I was super slow in typing and in moving around but soon I did get the hang of it. I found my way through the gallery, phonebook and settings in a few hours. I still need a little getting used to but all's good. The navigation is nothing compared to the astounding camera resolution, crystal clear sound and the sizzling hot & sexy looks. Truly, I'm falling even more for this baby. =)

Though it has been said many times, many ways: I'm not going to ask for anything as big as this anytime soon. I'm going to prove that I'm the best daughter in the world. I mean, I have to be worthy of it, right?

-oOo-

Tomorrow's the class outing of St. Christina (aka Napoleons -- hehe). I'm really excited not just because we were able to reserve a private pool and we'd just be swimming all our troubles away, but because I really miss them. Truly. I know I keep on saying how much I miss the Toledudes (my second year class) but this class was a heck of a lot crazier than the last -- I think. This outing is our celebration for our survival of the dictatorship. HAHA. I hope we do have fun, because seriously I need a break. Perhaps this would be my sweet escape?

-oOo-

Okay, so my cellphone is summoning me now, it's ringing like crazy. But, if I'm going to be a slave to THAT phone, it would sooo be worth it. Haha. Later, alligators.

i keep coming back to manila.

My one-week vacation in Batangas just ended today, and I'm back here in our humble ParaƱaque home. As much as I loved the cool breeze and yummy food I had there, there's no denying that there really is no place like home. Oh, how I missed my room and my computer (with the DSL fixed already)!! I wanna kiss it and shower it with love. Haha.

Have you seen the tagalized One Tree Hill on RPN 9?! Grabe. It pains me to hear my sweet Nathan having this husky-telenovela-like voice. And everyone else has really funny voices. Super hindi bagay! Last Wednesday I was laughing my head off because they had such bad accents when they speak some English phrases. Okay, so I'm not being mean to the dubbers, but it's true -- it's such a shame! Maybe a part of me should be proud that we have a tagalized version or something.. but I don't feel proud at all because super funny talaga! Nakakabreak ng heart because it's like they murdered the show! Here are few of the many funny phrases I heard from this week's episode:

Watt-eBURR! (Whatever)
Alam mo kung ano? (You know)
PROCK-tis (practice)
Lookas (Lucas)
BasketBOWL (basketball)
CHUCHURING center (tutor center)

and one of the most painful:

Nathan (to Haley): Huwag mo sabihing wala akong naibigay na kahit ano sa yo. (Don't say I never gave you anything)

UGH. Total weirdness. You have to see it though because I swear this post doesn't justify its absurdity. Every Wednesday, 8:30 pm on RPN. Then after that e-mail me and we'll tell RPN how much it sucks! Para they'll stop airing it na because really.. it's killing me. And I know it will kill the other fans as well!

So anyway..

How was my week? I basically spent it helping around the house, watching Grey's Anatomy & OTH, playing the piano, reading celebrity magazines from the States, answering Sudoku and just making kwento with my grandparents and tita. It wasn't really spent religiously as some would have, but I can say I have realized a lot of things about life, about myself and about my faith basically. I hope you too were able to pray and reflect well this week.

Speaking of Grey's Anatomy.. grabe I finished Season 2 & 3 already, and all I can say is WHOA. I know it's a little too late to join the Grey's bandwagon, but hey better late than never right? And it's funny how to me it doesn't have the I-can't-get-enough-of-it effect as OTH but it's addicting just the same. I love Meredith's voiceovers.. I can relate, super!! But the character I can really relate to is Addison. I don't know why her being passive-aggressive appeals to me so much. Haha. And the man candy? Of course everybody's drooling over McDreamy, Derek Shepherd but I find Mark Sloan aka McSteamy waaaay hotter! =) The lives they lead as surgeons are so interesting, every surgery has a story. But the show isn't strong enough to brainwash me into becoming a doctor. HAHA. Okay so I'll not rant about how great it is, maybe you should just try and see for yourself.

Outing na ng St. Christina sa Tuesday! Can't wait! =) If ever my mga Napoleons reading this, text me or message me for more info, basta I hope everyone can come! Last naman na eh.

Shoutouts to my commentors: Cars, Jologs Queen, Audrey, Nadine and Yvan. Mwaaah! =*

if i could escape..

As much as I'd like to welcome summer with my arms wide open, I can't because I'd probably have jabar stains. HAHA. Yuckness. Super init kasi.. don't you agree? And it's killing me because I hate too much heat. My body doesn't work normally in heat, I become Miss Snooty-Irritated-Byotch. Good thing I'm here at the cool, airconditioned Netopia at Robinson's Lipa. Every year kasi I spend the Holy Week here in Batangas at my grandma's house. So there.

I'm currently addicted to Gwen Stefani's Sweet Escape. I wish I really could escape, just runaway and go to a place I can just BE. It's hard when everyone else is dictating you or holding you back. I wish I have this emergency escape button I can press and will immediately take me to.. Bangkok or New York or Paris or Tree Hill and I can just let time pass me by. Life's too complicated already -- at least I know mine is -- we all need a little escape route sometimes. If only I could create my own paradise.. where nothing can go wrong and stealing b*tches are not allowed.. life would be perfect. =) But of course, the painful truth is that there's no such thing. The only way to get through the day is to just deal with it. So I guess I'll just be contented with late-night OTH marathons or Paramita-induced afternoons.. that's the closest thing I can get to a sweet escape right now. =)

The shop next to this sells cellphones, and once again with all its glory, I saw my love: The Motorola Razr V3x. I swear I fall in love with it every time I see it. ♥ Ayiee. Haha. I love my N7610 to bits, really, it has been with me through almost all the rough times I've had in my teenage life, but it's practically giving up on me already! I deserve something better. I need that hotpink V3x now! =P

Yesterday, Nica and I were talking about my "bad taste" for humorous things. Like The Simpsons ("D'oh!") or The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy ("My, my what nose you have!"). She finds them irritating but I find it HILARIOUS! Seriously. I can't watch it without really laughing out loud. Another good example is The Ramon Bautista Show on MTV which really cracks me up. And yes I admit, it really is kinda corny, but hey can I blame myself for being born mababaw?? I find humor in the littlest things, but I think the things that really do make me Laugh with a capital L are the annoying shows and jokes that are so bad they're good. HAHA, get it? So, in behalf of all the people who have fallen prey to such lame corny shows (and still ended up laughing anyway), I sing: "Di baling magdilim ang paligid mo, wag lang ang yong kilikili!" (Shet, I love Let's Go!)

Bummer. No new OTH episodes until May 2!! This is suffering. I need my Nathan or I'll die. Nathanemic ako -- kulang na sa Nathan. HAHA =)

geek in the pink.

In a world where even cellphones and other gadgets suffer from anorexia (read: being too small, frail and thin), it's not a surprise to find someone obsessing about how they look. Weight problems, beauty issues.. the never ending wars every woman has to face. And I used to think there were just fat and skinny. Now there's too fat, fat, chubby, sexy, thin, model-thin, stick-thin.. and where you fall in those categories, you can never tell. We're all worried about how other people will look at us simply because we want to feel that sense of belonging. During family gatherings or parties, there's only one thing they say to me: I lost weight ("Uy, ang laki na ng pinayat mo!"). And as a 15-year-old, how would I take these comments when thrown at me? Should I be flattered that I don't look chubby or should I be worried because I look like a stick to them? I'll be honest, I'm an average teenaged-girl wanting to look pretty and "sexy" (as in not too fat and not too skinny, haha) most of the time. And more often than not, comments like that would be taken as compliments. They keep on saying that I look great and all and that I don't have to worry about me being called "tabachuchuy" or "bansot" because I have the "perfect frame" for my age. But still. It's easier said than done. It's hard to NOT care about how you look because society dictates you to. I want to say I don't care if my bangs are cool, or that I'm not tall enough, or if I have a small chest (huhu), or if I have a huge waistline.. I really don't want to. But I can't help it. And it's not just because I see the models in magazines or celebrities looking hot in skinny jeans or the whatnot. It's also because everyone else around me, family and friends, care about how I look and how they look. It's like every one's in this big Beauty Game of some sort, and you all have to outdo each other in terms of prettiness and sexiness. And the pressure's on each one of us. If you think about it, it's such a ridiculous situation, but can anyone honestly tell me that they don't care if they don't look beautiful enough? Okay so my point is, everyone goes through this phase of wanting to be accepted for what we look like, not who we are. And you know what, I'm actually okay with that because I think that's human nature. I just hope that the people out there decent enough to understand that it's not easy going through life all flawed and imperfect, but we'll get over this. At least I hope I will.

I still can't get the Motorola RAZR V3x out of my head. That yummy hot pink tech concoction. Ooooh. I can't wait to get my hands on one -- that is if my parents love me enough to get me one. HAHA. I can totally understand if they don't since they've given me the iPod Video for Christmas already. And wishing for a new phone would just be plain Paris Hilton-y. But you see, this is what happens when one becomes a member of the Geek Squad. You start reading your dad's gadget magazines one day just because you have nothing to do and before you know it you fall prey into the hands of such beautiful devices. And suddenly the wishing never stops! You say, "Once I get this one, I'll never wish for anything again!" but alas, you get yourself a new mp3 player and you realize you could also use a new cell. Or a new laptop. Or new speakers. Or a new watch. Or a new TV and player (possibly an HD or Blu-Ray). Or a new digicam (DSLR, anyone?!). And you KNOW you're a certified nerd-geek when you start talking about these things to you friends and instead of being amazed they give you puzzled looks because they never understood a word. OKAY SO I ADMIT, I'm such a tech whore. But who can blame me?! It's just like falling in love, only better (and yummier-looking!). One day, V3x, one day.

I'm so tired, but surprisingly we didn't do any studying at school today since all the lessons are finished already. I gave all my reviewers to Nica, and right now all I want to do is pray for those will still take the test -- and sleep. I'm such a night owl already because I think I rigged my body clock. Stupid late night studying sessions. Haha. But hey, they paid off (I think). Especially for English. =) Hehe. Only a few more days to go and these things will be nothing but history! I can't wait. =P

Toni, Keng, me and Inna during speech choir practice =)

Happy Birthday to my Papa, tomorrow! Love yah, Papa ♥

Unintentionally, I think this post proved that I really am a kikay-nerd. HARHAR. =)
Later.

and she's still alive!

the new and improved BOMBASTARR.Yes, Bombastarr is indeed back. And hopefully for good! My, my, I miss blogging here. Yes, Multiply was fun, but at some point I missed making use of my HTMLing skills (read: making layouts) which I really love. So.. there. I'm back.

Well the school year is almost over, and I guess this "homecoming" -- if you could call it that -- is my way of welcoming summer! Now I have all the time in the world to update this thing. Hehe. Anyway, I've missed a lot especially on bloghopping, but hopefully I can get back on track next week.

So what's up with me? I'm still very busy with Recognition day practices and all that, but I'm glad the exams are over for me. I've been through a rollercoaster ride this last couple of weeks but hey, I'm still alive and kicking, so yeah, I'm still okay. Some changes? Hmm.. let's see. I now have bangs, and wearing glasses -- totally nerdified myself a la Haley. Haha. But yes, I'm still as cute as ever. HARHAR =)

Do you know how long it took me to make this layout?? Almost forever because of the new Blogger. ARGH. Gahd, I hate it. But thank God I was able to work things out din. The picture above is me, during one of my vain "photography" sessions with Nica in our classroom. Haha. =) I know it's summmer already and I shouldn't be having a layout with me wearing my uniform, but hey, it's like my way of saying sayonara to this school year, right?? =)

I'm still all over the place, but I'm just really, really glad to be back!. GOD, I MISSED THIS BLOG. And all of my loyal visitors!! I'm back, so welcome me into your arms wide open. Ohyeah. =)

Shoutouts to: Nica, Rexy, Nikki, Cars, Ate Xienah, Shally, Ate Patty and Rina! =) ♥

LOVE TO ALL!!

back to the city of devils

Thursday was our first school day for 2007. Obviously, people were so hyper and makulet, full of kwento and chismis. We were only gone for two weeks but it's like we have a year's worth of stories! I was so happy to finally see and talk to my friends again, in person. Somehow texting just isn't the same. And we're divided by our networks (Globe and Sun wars!! Haha) so, we weren't really on the same "planet" during our vacation. But with all the excitement comes the nervousness as well since the first few days after the exams are usually the dreaded Checking Of Test Papers Day. Yes, these are the days we always anticipate with horror. Upon the sight of the teacher with a bunch of test papers in hand, the apprehension begins. Hands holding red-inked pens are always shaking, and faces are filled with anxiety. The mood of everyone changes as the checking starts. Everyone is hungry for bonuses and pluses, and almost everyone reacts violently when the student called gives out the wrong answer. ("NO! Letter A kaya!!") Automatic yan. Finally, when the teacher says, "Okay tally the score then return the paper to the owner," everyone stands up and eagerly waits for their paper to be given to them. Oh, that feeling of finally seeing your score in big red ink.. it's unexplainable. It can either make or break your day. And almost everyone will frantically search for corrections just to gain more points. Every single point is like a gold bar to all of us. It's true. Okay, so we're not really nerdy, geeky grade-conscious dweebs, but I'm just saying that believe or not these "big tests" (Periodic and Long tests) really matter to us. So there's no denying that we become greedy point-earners in this time of the quarter. But of course, at the end of the period, no matter how heartbreaking or heartwarming the results were, we just have to get over it because a new teacher is about to come in, and another cycle for another subject will begin. =)

So if you're wondering how my scores were, well they were okay. I know, I always say they're okay but that's because they really are. They're not perfect but I can say my late night studying paid off somehow. So, I guess, OKAY really is the term for it. Haha. =) HAHA. Anyhoo, Mrs. F showed us the percentage of our seatworks and quizzes this quarter, and I'm happy about it. At least nakabawi na ako somehow and I'm starting to like Algeb again! Especially now that we're discussing Trigonometry.. which is a little related to Geometry.. which is my favorite subject of all-time. Last Thursday, Mrs. F reviewed the angles and some basic geometric terms to us, and upon hearing the words postulate, triangle and vertex, I swear my heart skipped a beat! With all humility, Geometry is one of the few things I really like and I'm actually good at. I really miss it. I miss filling up the two-column proof, I miss my arguments with Mrs. Santos, I miss really analyzing circles and triangles just to prove theorems. I miss all of it. Somehow our discussion brought me and Geom together even for just a short while. Sigh. Karla the kikay nerd. (Where else can you see a girl so madly in-love with Geometry?! Shux, I'm weird.)

Anyway, another thing that made me really happy is CLE class. Our quarterly project is the Bible Of My Life. Each quarter Ms. Napoles assigns to us the topics under each "book." Example, Genesis, then under that you have your family tree, your parents' love story and your birth. And it goes on. The submission is always before the Periodic Test. I classify it as a "really hard work" project because it's not something you can do easily overnight. And though scrapbooking is not my thing, I get through. *wink, wink* Dinadaan ko na lang sa madrama kong mga writings. Haha. Okay so anyway, Ms. Napoles gave us the topics last Thursday but she surprised us with something different: we'll not be using our scrapbooks anymore, instead we would be videotaping ourselves and telling our answers to the camera. Sound familiar? That's because she got it from ONE TREE HILL. Does the time capsule ring any bells?! At first I was really hesitant, but when she told us she had the idea because of One Tree Hill, me and all the other addicts (Cars, Nikki, Meg, Nica -- my OTH best friends.. hehe) were like, "WAAAAH!" Haha. Game na ko! Anything OTH talaga. And now I'm actually kind of excited, I mean, no one's going to see me anyway (unless someone releases it like in the show! Then someone's secrets will be revealed then the next day.. okay, I think I should stop now) and I think it's more personal that way. Whee, I'm excited na!! I told you, OTH is really taking over the world! I mean, what are the chances that our CLE teacher would watch my all-time favorite show and have such an awesome idea for a project?! God is so good to me. =)

We practically did nothing yesterday, it was like an unofficial free day, since we didn't discuss any lessons and we had a special schedule because of the First Friday Mass, so basically it was perfect for catching up and making kwento. Have you ever had that feeling of sharing something really personal and being so surprised that there's someone who can relate? Well, that's how I felt yesterday with all the stories I shared with my friends *wink* and promise, it's soo fun! It's the best conversation ever. Haha. Then during Algeb class, we watched the live performance of Pull Out Regular but didn't finish since it was already time. Darn. But shoutouts to Teamago especially to their vocalist Raissa and their dancer Nikki!! Taralets! =) Jen and I had fun during English too since we talked about our favorite topic: One Tree Hill, and of course our husbands. Lucas for Jen, and Nathan for me. Perfect =) I wish everyday was like yesterday, yung walang ginagawa. It's fun to be in school but still be on vacation-mode somehow. Haha.

Look at my husband.
Grabe, he's so cuuuute! ♥
I so love him talaga.

Bethany Joy and James.
They look so good together! HEHE =)

Wow, dame ko nasabi ah. And that's just from two days of classes. Hyper lahat eh! =) I'm on LSS with "City of Devils" by Yellowcard again. I don't know why, maybe because I'm back at school -- the real city of devils. HAHA. Just kidding. Okay, enough chitchat, you're probably tired by the time you reach this part, so I guess I'll be saying bye-bye now. It's the weekend already! Vacation again, yeheyy! Though I'm not going out today since I'm in pain -- some "friend" decided to visit me today and now I can't stand and I can't move. HAYY. Sometimes, I just want to be a boy na lang! Haha. Take care, y'all. Ciao.

felice nuovo l'anno!!

Happy New Year, everyone! After the jumping, screaming, shouting, firecracking (HAHA) and eating.. I hope you all welcomed 2007 with complete body parts. =) The year 2006 has indeed been a rollercoaster ride for me, with lots of drama and surprises. But I'm glad I survived it all, and now here I am facing a new year with new hopes, dreams and soap opera-ish events. And of course, with this time of the year comes the dreaded new year's resolution. I can still remember mine a year ago: to be like Haley. And how do I fare on my Haley scale? Well, I don't know, but I'm sure I could've done better. I know there were times when I became as bitchy as Brooke or as selfish as Peyton.. hehe. Hey, nobody's perfect, right? But at least there's still room for improvement.. so I think I'm going to keep that resolution. And aside from that, I'm really going to try to be a better person in almost every way I can. Oh, and yeah I'm gonna try to shed off some pounds.. God, I'm so fat already!! Have you seen me lately?! Well, well, so much for year of the pig.

I've changed my layout by the way, in case you haven't noticed. And yes, I made this one on my own! Yeheyy! It's been too long, and though I love the layout from BlogSkins, I think it blocked my thoughts. I mean, have you read my previous posts? Lame-o. Well, I hope this layout will hopefully bring some positive changes. I made this one from scrap, as in from zero. As all of you may know, I'm still using my dad's old laptop. No Adobe, no FrontPage (hey I'm not perfect!), no Nokia PC Suite, no CD drive, only one USB drive (for the printer) and it's very, very slow. So this layout is practically a miracle! Haha. Back to the basics I guess. Anyway, while waiting for this very slow computer to load, I amused myself by reading my tita's Italian phrase book and dictionary, and I got the idea of using Italian words for my nav box. So, that explains the weird syllables you can see on your left. Haha. But the title of this layout, Amo Ergo Sum is actually Latin for I love therefore I am, which I got from Gossip Girl. I think Rene Descartes should seriously consider that philosophy. =)

Speaking of foreign words, I love the Italian translation of Bombastarr: La Bomba Stella. NICE, right? It sounds so classy and sophisticated. I'd love to learn how to speak Italian or French one day. They're such wonderful languages, don't you think? When I watch the Italian or French channels on cable (out of boredom) I enjoy listening to how the words are pronounced. They have a beautiful sound, don't you agree? It's like the words always flow gracefully in their language. Hmm. One day, I shall be able to go to conquer Europe! Fare l'entrata per La Bomba Stella!

Anyway, I just got home from my coffee date at Starbucks with my two Kuyas and tita. I had a Peppermint Mocha (take note: decaf, non-fat and no whipped cream. I really am determined to lose weight!) and boy, was it delicious! It's my new favorite, actually. It's not too strong, and it's got the perfect minty-bittersweet taste. Highly recommended. I've moved on from my addiction from Mocha Valencia.. Peppermint Mocha is LOVE! =) Thank God for coffee, it's one of the things that keep me sane. It's my drug. I'm a coffee junkie. Yeaaah. Without it, I'd most probably be in a mental asylum, right now -- HAHA. Oh and by the way, I already have the 2007 Starbucks Planner! Add in my OTH Calendar which I got from Christmas (yes, it's the real thing straight from the States!!), 2007 just got a lot better.

I really, really, really wish that this year will bring me lots of smiles and happiness! And the genuine kind. I know it's very cliche, but I just really want to feel fulfilled. I'm tired of being yanked out of stable ground just when things are starting to fall into place. I hope this year will be filled with more laughs rather than tears. I hope I can really become the best person I can be. But more importantly, I hope I have the strength to be who I want to be. I want to be strong enough to assert myself, to say no to something I don't want, to express what I really feel and to do what I have to do. I pray you all have the strength as well, because I know we could all use a little courage inside us sometimes. Here's to a strong and blissful 2007: CHEERS!

"Here we go, life's waiting to begin."
